2015 Festival of Architecture and Design

The 2015 Festival of Architecture and Design will run from the 8th-13th October, a significant part of what Adelaide has dubbed as design month. We are honoured and thrilled to be on board for another year with the South Australian Chapter of the Australian Institute of Architects in helping them make this festival possible.

Last year was the inaugural festival which set the bar quite high for this year’s program. With a carefully thought out program for both the architect, designer and the general public, there was something for everyone. This year will be bigger and better!

As the major partner for the festival, we see the need for this type of event in Adelaide. The festival creates the opportunity for the community to understand the role of local architects and designers by putting on a number of events that educate, inspire and allow engagement with the architectural and design industry. The festival will explore, celebrate and discuss the role of architects and designers in South Australia. 

Recently, the role of architecture and design has become progressively more significant as Adelaide evolves into a more densely developed city. By increasing the level of awareness on why design and architecture is beneficial for the community and our quality of life, it will ultimately shape our future. 

At AWS, we pride ourselves on designing aluminium windows and doors that have been tested to comply with Australian Standards. We work closely with architects and designers every single day and this festival promotes the importance of this and further supports the need for quality design, products and materials which contribute to a successful built environment.
