The conference is being held on the 30th May to the 1st June in Melbourne this year. The theme of this year’s conference is “Material Conference” where the Architecture Institute of Australia and representatives will delve into ideas about the reconsideration of ‘material’ and provide insight into contemporary material experiments. The conference will showcase architects who use familiar materials in inventive ways as well as architects who use or invent unfamiliar materials. The Conference will challenge existing assumptions about materials and go well beyond their technical specification or immediate physical presence. It will provide new insights into contemporary material experiments and applications, perhaps challenging existing notions of ‘materiality’. This competition will be promoted by Architectural Window Systems ("Promoter") (ABN 46 067 950 903) in the states of VIC, NSW, SA, ACT and QLD Australia only.
1. Information regarding the prizes and how to enter forms part of these Conditions of Entry. By entering the Competition (Competition), entrants accept these Conditions of Entry.
2. Entry is open only to VIC, NSW, SA, ACT and QLD Australian residents aged 18 years or over. Directors, officers, management or employees (and the immediate family members of directors, officers, management or employees) of the Promoter or of its Fabricators are not eligible to enter. Immediate family members mean any of the following: spouse, ex-spouse, de-facto, ex-de-facto, child or step-child (whether natural or by adoption), parent, step-parent, grandparent, step-grandparent, uncle, aunt, niece, nephew, brother, sister, step-brother, step-sister or first cousin.
3. The Competition Period is from 1st March 2013 to April 30th 2013.
4. To enter, Entrants must, during the competition period follow SpecifyAWS on Twitter at https://twitter.com/SpecifyAWS. Only one entry per person will be accepted.
5. All entries must be received by the Promoter during the Competition Period. Online entries are deemed to be received at the time of receipt into the Promoter’s database, not at the time of transmission by the Entrant. Each Entrant is responsible for their own costs associated with accessing the internet. The Promoter is not liable for late, lost, incomplete, incorrectly submitted, delayed, illegible, corrupted or misdirected entries, claims or correspondence due to error, omission, alteration, tampering, deletion, theft, destruction, transmission interruption and communications failure or otherwise. The Promoter has no control over telephone communications, the internet, networks or lines and accepts no responsibility for any problems associated with them, whether due to traffic congestion, technical malfunction or otherwise. The Promoter is not liable for any consequences of user error including (without limitation) costs incurred. Any Entrant who enters using multiple email addresses and/or aliases, or otherwise contravenes these Conditions of Entry, may be disqualified.
6. The prize draw will take place at 9.00am (AEST) on Wednesday 1st May at Architectural Window Systems 76-78 Jedda Rd, Prestons NSW 2170. The first two valid entries randomly drawn from all entries received during the Competition Period will win the prize. This is not a game of skill. Prizes are as follows 2 x registrations to the 2013 National Architecture Conference 30.5.13 – 01.06.13 valued at $955 each.
7. The total prize pool is valued at up to $1910 nationally (Inc GST).
8. The winners will be notified in writing on the 1st May 2013 and will be private messaged on Twitter indicating their success. Their names will be published on the SpecifyAWS Twitter page https://twitter.com/SpecifyAWS and on the SpecifyAWS website www.specifyaws.com.au. If the prize has not been accepted or claimed within 7 days of the draw, the same method with be used to re-draw the prize. This re-draw will continue every 7 days until prize is claimed.
9. The Promoter may require Entrants to provide proof of identity. Prizes are not transferable, exchangeable or redeemable for cash.
10. If a winning entry is deemed not to comply with these Conditions of Entry, that entry will be discarded and a new winner of the prize will be determined by drawing a further valid entry in accordance with term 6. The Promoters' decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
11. The Promoter may, in its sole discretion, disqualify all entries from, and prohibit further participation in this Competition by, any person who tampers with or benefits from any tampering with the entry process or with the operation of the Competition or acts in violation of these Conditions of Entry, acts in a disruptive manner or acts with the intent to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other person.
12. If for any reason any aspect of this Competition is not capable of running as planned, including by reason of computer virus, communications network failure, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failure or any cause beyond the control of the Promoter, the Promoter may in its sole discretion cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Competition, or invalidate any affected entries, subject to the approval of the relevant gaming authorities, if required.
13. All entries will be the property of the Promoter. Privacy Statement - The information an Entrant provides will be used by the Promoter for the purpose of conducting this Competition as well as providing Special Offers and/or company information. The Entrant additionally agrees that they must provide their consent to receive marketing communications from the Promoter at the time of submitting their entry (through any entry method). An Entrant can opt out of receiving Company's marketing communications at a later time, by contacting Company via the details below. An Entrant's personal information will otherwise be handled in accordance with the Promoter's privacy policy, available at http://www.awsaustralia.com.au/privacy-policy.shtml. The Company may disclose an Entrant's personal information to its contractors and agents to assist in conducting this Competition or communicating with the Entrant.
