Architecturally inspired systems for superior style and performance

International Women's Day, rebecca naughtin, architect, victorian architect, perspectives

To celebrate International Women's Day, we thought we'd release the next instalment in the AWS “Perspectives” video series, an interview with Rebecca Naughtin alongside Bruce Allen and Edwina Brisbane on the value of Mentoring.

Rebecca graduated from RMIT in 2004 and became registered in 2007. In 2008, Rebecca formed Allen Naughtin Architects with Bruce Allen, a multidisciplinary practice specialising in residential and commercial projects. After 5 years Rebecca made the decision to establish her own practice and formed Rebecca Naughtin Architect. Rebecca is actively involved in the profession and continues to be an excellent role model for young emerging architects. In particular Rebecca’s involvement has been instrumental in initiatives, such as the Australian Institute of Architects VIC Chapter Women in Architecture Constructive Mentor Program, which AWS is proud to sponsor.

In 2013 Rebecca was awarded the Institute’s 2013 Victorian Emerging Architects Prize. An acknowledgement of the significant contribution Rebecca has made to the profession and of her excellence in practice. At AWS we are proud to support Gender Equity and Mentoring programs across the country and stories like this one makes it all the more meaningful.

Ohh.. and happy International Women's Day!
