Contemporary Aluminium Windows and Doors for your lifestyle

This early 1900’s farm house is located in Pyree, on the New South Wales south coast. The existing home was a run-down farm house with plenty of land. The clients wanted to renew the home’s lease of life by transforming it into a modernised, energy efficient home whilst utilising as many of the original materials from the home and land as possible.

The house was to provide a modern, sustainable family home that had ideal access to sunlight, views to local and distant farmlands and a focus on selected established trees on their property.

iArchitecture designed the new, modern wing which contains the open plan lounge/living/dining spaces of this home. They worked in conjuction with C & D Moffat Builders to ensure the building allowed for a contrast of new to old, using both original materials as well as sleek, modern ones.

Part of this renovation was the requirement for new windows and doors throughout the house, as the old ones has deteriorated. iArchitecture used local window and door manufacturer, Hanlon Windows, to provide advice on the best systems to use.

This project demanded a large variety of windows and doors to provide the necessary light, ventilation and access points according to the requirements of each internal space.

Vantage® aluminium windows and doors were used throughout this project due to their exceptional performance attributes.

Vantage®Series 542 D’Stacker Sliding Door was used to create an extra-large living space between the indoors and outdoors. The back of the house sports a fantastic, enclosed decking space which was to be an extension of the indoor dining room. This has been created through the use of large, stacking doors which fold back to create a seamless living space.

Natural cross ventilation was created via the use of a variety of Vantage systems including louvres, sliding doors and awning windows to capture the summer north-east breezes.

The client has appreciated the new added value of their home, and of having a house with a connection into the past that can now be enjoyed for a long time into the future.

Aluminium windows and doors assists in converting this run down farm house into an architecturally inspired home
