Architecturally inspired systems for superior style and performance

"We wanted to achieve the highest possible energy rating so using thermally broken window frames was essential for this project"

Robert Harwood

Architect

Situated in regional Victoria, the Euroa house embraces all that nature has to offer, with the home fitting right into its unique landscape.

Collaborating with owner-builder Eddie Spain and architect Robert Harwood, the team at Windows by Design were entrusted to help bring this amazing design to life.

When specifying windows and doors for the home, Robert could not go past AWS’s Elevate and ThermalHEARTTM brands. “I’ve actually used these product ranges on just about every project I’ve done over the last five years,” says Robert. “What’s great about them is, they always have the right solution for the situation.”

“We used the charcoal satin powdercoat intentionally throughout the home, to frame the incredible views throughout the home.”

The Series 804 Thermally Broken 100mm CentreGLAZE™ Framing was chosen due to its thermal efficiency. ThermalHEART™ technology includes a built-in insulating barrier that delivers up to 33% more efficiency than standard double-glazed windows. “The sizes work really well for the energy ratings we require so I’ve found them a to be a very good, all-round solution,” Robert says. “We wanted to achieve the highest possible energy rating so using thermally broken window frames was essential for this project.”

The Series 704 SlideMASTER™ Sliding Door was also used throughout the property to deliver a premium performance while maintaining a sleek visual for the home. Their ability to be manufactured in larger sizes allows them to maximise the beautiful views from within the home. These sliding doors allow for indoor/outdoor living to be maximised and bring the great outdoors to life.
