Light-filled, elegant and perfectly proportioned, this beautiful master-wing extension in Galston, NSW, is a benchmark for the creation of seamless outdoor and indoor living areas.

 

To deliver consistency with the original part of the home, the architect/builder, Turrell Building, needed access to a wide range of complimentary colours and materials. They turned to window and door fabricators, Everclear Windows, to take advantage of the huge range of choices.

 

In consultation with Everclear, massive Series 412 ViewMASTER™ bifold openings were installed, leading onto a stunning alfresco dining and entertainment area. The strength of the bifolds eliminated the need for extra-large framing to carry the glass panels.

 

When closed, the tall glass panels flood the living room with sunshine to create a warm family retreat from the elements. When open, the entire unit sits flush against the wall for an interrupted connection between the internal areas and the great outdoors. A clever flush threshold also eliminates any trip hazards and adds to the seamlessness of the transition.

 

To compensate for obstructed natural light through the large, covered alfresco area, finding the right framing was key. The solution was Series 400 CentreGLAZE framing to welcome plenty of natural sunshine into the home, and carry the considerable weight of the glass.

 

Series 400 Commercial framing was also used to maximise natural light into the kitchen, while beautiful awning windows feature in the bathroom. The Surfmist colour pallet and architectural framing complements the stone tiling and contemporary finishes throughout.

 

From the outset, the owners were determined to ensure harmony between the existing home and the renovation. Smart design and materials selection have delivered their dream in spades.
