2015 Emerging Architect Winner

Nic Brunsdon is the 2015 Emerging Architect Prize Winner! This prize was presented last Thursday 19th March at the Australian Institute of Architects annual event, the AAAA's (Australian Achievement in Architecture Awards).

The Australian Institute of Architects put on a fabulous soiree at the Ian Potter Centre NGV Australia where we were in the company of some of Australia's finest architects and emerging architects.

At AWS we recognise the significant contribution emerging architects make to the profession. We love to sponsor this prize as it acknowledges an emerging architects diverse and innovative contributions to the profession. Nic co-founded SpaceMarket and Post Perth. His passion and love of architecture is apparent when you speak to him. He was the perfect choice for the 2015 Emerging Architect's Prize.

The morning after the awards, we hosted a breakfast at The Kettle Black in Melbourne to celebrate Nic's achievement. We were joined by his lovely partner Jordy, Arbel Givargis and Daniela Crawley from the AIA, Cameron Bruhn from Architecture Media and the 2014 Victorian Emerging Architect Winner, Rebecca Naughton. We were able to reflect on the awards night and talk all things architecture.

We give the opportunity for the prize winner to star in a short film about anything they want. In Nic's short film, he talks about practice, risk and delves into the idea of 'not knowing'. This is the third video in the PERSPECTIVES video series filmed and produced by SRH Communications and sponsored by AWS. These unique short films capture a viewpoint on architecture from the perspective of one architectural mind sharing it with the profession in the hope of broadening awareness and creating architectural dialogue.

We are tremendously excited to be able to share with you a short film capturing a unique idea from Nic Brunsdon.
